Reflections and Resolutions: My Journey Through the year

Hey Oopar Fam,

Below is my brief write-up of the year I am leaving behind:

“January, A very bitter start to the year 2023, with tears and feeling lost in life.

December, A very happy ending to the year 2023, with many new experiences and feeling alive in every second of life.

A time when I needed to feel something – Sunsets, Family, My Person, Food, Football and Solo Travelling gave me that nudge to step out of my comfort zone and experience it.

Travelling had been a big part of my life ever since I stepped out of Chennai, and it only has been giving me all the right reasons to keep dreaming big. Be it Solo or in a group, I have learnt so much about myself, and this year was no less.

A year which made me realize that – I love having a hectic schedule and keeping myself up and about, I am a morning person, I deserve the world and more.

To the people around me who made me realize that – loving myself and putting myself first, to be loud and opiniated, to ask for help if needed, to dealing with reality checks and to feel; is right.

A pathological people pleaser, they said. But, I am just a person who loves her people and putting efforts towards them is just second nature to me. Be it long distance friendships or next door friendships. I am just me.

In this world of adulting, where it’s really hard to make friends, there are people who are kind and just giving because of whom I have made meaningful connections, memories and built habits this year. To conversations that make you stay up late, to hearing people’s stories, to music that you can sing out loud and along with, to creating art with your hands, to sharing laughter, tears, lessons and small/big moments in life.

Yeh saare seekh, yaadein, shararatein, kahaniyan aur bahut saare khawab lekar udd rahin hun iss agle aur naye saal mein.”

Thanks for reading, Happy New Year.
